After some time discussing settings, prizes and so on with our sponsor, L_Clan_ARBALET, and Ensemble Studios, we are proud to announce our first AoE3 Open tournament: Legion AoEIII Cup.
Sign-ups will stay opened from April 23rd to May 3rd, 2006. The tournament will start then on May 7th. Everyone can sign-up here.
- Legion AoE3 Cup is a clan-based 2vs2 tournament;
- Basic game settings are: Supremacy, all default, medium speed, single elimination;
- Round 1 to 7 will feature best of 3 games per round, where the 1st map is a standard map pre-set by admins, the 2nd map is chosen by the team that lost the 1st map, and the 3rd map is chosen by the team that won the 1st map. The chosen maps must be one of the game standard maps, and all the 3 maps must be different (no repeating in the same round allowed);
- The semi-finals and finals will feature best of 5 games each, where the first 3 maps are standard maps pre-set by admins, and the 2 last ones are chosen one by each time, the same way as explained before;
- Round 1: Great Plains;
- Round 2: New England;
- Round 3: Bayou;
- Round 4: Great Lakes;
- Round 5: Carolina;
- Round 6: Pampas;
- Round 7: Yucatan;
- Semi-Finals: Saguenay, Texas and Hispania;
- Finals: Yucatan, Pampas and Yukon;
#1. Each team must be composed by 2 players from the same ESO2 Clan (each clan can sign-up as many teams as desired);
#2. Each player can play only in ONE team;
#3. Each round will last ONE week, starting on Mondays and having Sundays (23:59 GMT) as deadline. The Semi-Finals and Finals will be played, each, in a single day;
#4. The time to get the games played should be arranged by the teams who are playing against each other in the Game-Time arrangement Forums (Semi-Finals and Finals will start at 16:30 GMT, in the scheduled days);
#5. If there is no agreement about the playing time, the fixed time is the Saturday before the round's deadline, at 16:30 GMT;
#6. The maximum waiting time, starting from the arranged time, is 25 minutes. After such time is over, the team that is waiting for the opponents should take a screenshot of the ESO2 waiting room and post it at Admin wins request topic.
#7. If the game drops in the first 5 minutes then the game must be restarted. If however one player tries to use this game drop to their advantage, the admins might consider giving admin win to the other team if situation warrants it;
#8. If a player's connection aborts after 5 minutes of game-time, the game is lost by the team with the disconnected player. However, if the team with the disconnected player is clearly winning at the time of the disconnection, the game can be posted for an administrative decision;
#9. In case of router conflicts between players, firstly try to set up your router correctly using our tips provided here. If there are still problems, then the players should try to hook-up their computers directly to their modems or try using a dial-up connection, as well as closing their firewalls/anti-virus during the games. If still no success, then post the problem in the Legion AoE3 Cup forum requesting admin decision (make sure all the previous steps were done before posting, though);
#10. Double civilization in a game is PROHIBITED (for example German/German vs Ottoman/Russia) and results in the loss of the game where the double civilization was used;
#11 If one teams notices that their opponents don’t belong to the same clan on ESO2, they should make a screenshot and post it on the Admin win requests topic. The team then will be disqualified;
#12. All the games MUST be recorded and posted in the tournament's recorded games forum in order to validate the results of each round. The following format MUST be used on the recorded games files:
QUOTE
LAC_Round#_Game#_Player1_Player2_VS_Player3_Player4
example: LAC_R1_G1_Finch_Songo_VS_ConseQui_BoOwOo
Note that the files should be posted compressed with .zip or .rar formats;example: LAC_R1_G1_Finch_Songo_VS_ConseQui_BoOwOo
#13. The tournament admins are L_Clan_Finch and L_Clan_Derptus. These players are the ONLY ones with power to take any decision regarding the tournament.
#14. Cheating is absolutely prohibited, and players caught cheating will get banned from our tournament, from our website and from all our future tournaments. Not only use of hacks or any other illegal program, but cheating also includes:
- Playing under more than one nickname in the tournament;
- Letting another user play with your ID (each player MUST use ONLY his OWN ID);
- Falsifying any information regarding game results;
- Exploitation of tournament rules, including (but not limited to) the obligatory restart rules;
- Other clear/similar attitudes and/or situations;
#15. Offensive posts in our forums are PROHIBITED and result in various punishments, decided by the admins according to each situation;
#16. The money prizes will be sent by The Legion Clan via WesternUnion.com (sending fees may be deduced from the prize amount) and the Ensemble Studios prizes will be sent directly by Ensemble Studios. This way, all the players who got any prize must provide real and accurate information to allow the sending of the prizes, as well as pick up their cash prizes before the transfers expire;
#17. Rules can be added and/or modified at anytime, and such changes will be announced here in this topic, as a new reply.
#18. By signin-up in the tournament, you automatically agree with all the tournament rules, settings, prizes and conditions.
#19. In case your opponents don't answer to your scheduling topic until Friday by 23:59 gmt, be online in the default times (Saturdays 16:30 gmt) and wait for them. If they don't come, then request admin win. The maximum waiting time, starting from the defaullt time, is also 25 minutes.
#20. When posting the recorded games, make sure the topic title has the following format:
QUOTE
Topic Title: Round [Team] Player1/Player2 vs [Team] Player1/Player 2
Topic Description: (Group X) 2-0
Remember to post all the games in the same topic (do not create 1 topic for each recorded game. The results won't be valid if the topic doesn't have such format. Recorded games of each round MUST be posted by Sunday 23.59 GMT same week (or atleast result of the match must be reported to admins).Topic Description: (Group X) 2-0
#21. English is the default language used in our forums and in the tournament. Schedulings, posts and everything else (including screenshots proving forfeits, for example), MUST be done in ENGLISH.
#22. The players placed between 5th and 8th will play a Round Robin system (each team vs all the other teams), with same format as the previous matches and with fixed map Yucatan (same as Round 7 fixed map). This will define which team is 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. The games against the other opponents should be scheduled and all games must be finished before the grand finals are played. Note that there is no admin time for such games (5th-8th place decision), so this way everyone HAS to get into an agreement regarding the game times.
